Intro to Leadership Skills for Troops

Ever wondered how to become a good and effective leader?

Does the thought of leading a patrol sound exciting but a bit terrifying?

On Dec. 7 we will begin giving you the tools to succeed in first leading yourself (being prepared), then leading a group (patrol), and ultimately an organization (your troop).

Join your SPL, SM, and Advancement Chair for a fun filled-day of leadership training with lunch from Five Points Pizza!

This training is required to sit on the PLC for our February elections and to attend National youth Leadership Training (NYLT) this summer.

What is ILST: The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts about the leadership positions within the Troop and how to most effectively reach success in that role.

It is intended to help Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities.

ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Scouts and is a replacement for Troop Leadership Training. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses at NYLT.
